The Division of Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery is comprised of programs in cardiac surgery, general thoracic surgery, and heart and lung transplantation. It's faculty also the lead the multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Program based at UCSF Mt. Zion.
UCSF Medical Center earned a “high performance” rating – the highest rating possible – for lung cancer surgery, aortic value surgery, heart bypass surgery, and treatment of heart failure and COPD in the U.S. News & World Report 2017-2018 Best Hospitals survey. The survey evaluated data from more than 4,500 hospitals.
